Mr. Stettler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Ohio University in
1989. Mr. Stettler received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of San Diego
School of Law. He received two American Jurisprudence Awards as well as two Corpus
Juris Secundum Awards while attending law school.Prior to graduation from law school, Mr. Stettler was employed by Golden Eagle Insurance for eight years. His experience was primarily related to the defense of workers’ compensation claims. He served in their litigation department as a hearing representative for three years. While in the litigation department, he was responsible for litigation management and handled appearances throughout the Southern California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards. In addition, he aided in the evaluation of OBAE audit functions conducted by the state. Prior to departing Golden Eagle Insurance, he was promoted to manage the subrogation department. During his tenure as manager, the subrogation department was seen as a leader in the industry for paid loss return percentages.
Following Mr. Stettler’s graduation from the University of San Diego, he joined the Law Firm of Siegel & Moreno as an associate specializing in the defense of workers’ compensation claims, including 132(a) allegations, serious and willful, as well as subrogation matters.
